How We Verify Coupons
Last updated October 12, 2026
“Verified” is one of the most abused words on the internet. Here is precisely what it means on BrandVault.
The test
- An editor opens the brand’s website in a clean browser session (no stored cookies or logins).
- They build a representative basket – usually one full-price item and one sale item, above any stated minimum spend.
- They apply the code at checkout and record the result: accepted or rejected, the discount applied, and any message about exclusions.
- If the code applies, they note the terms: minimum spend, excluded categories, new-customer only, expiry date where the brand states one.
- The coupon is published with a “last tested” date and the terms in plain language.
Re-testing
Every live code is re-tested at least every 14 days, and immediately when a reader reports a failure. Codes that fail are removed from the brand page. We do not keep “expired” lists for the sake of page length.
What we do not list
- Codes we have not tested ourselves.
- Single-use codes issued to an individual.
- Codes that only work by exploiting a store error.
- Codes scraped from other coupon sites.
Deals without codes
Some offers – sales, automatic discounts, free-shipping thresholds – need no code. We list these as “deals” and test that the price shown on the brand’s site matches what we state. Deals are re-checked on the same 14-day cycle.
Click tracking
We count how many times each coupon is used so we can show “used 240 times” and remove codes that nobody is using successfully. This counting is anonymous; see our privacy policy.
Report a problem
If a code fails for you, please tell us via the contact page with the brand name and the code. We re-test the same day. If it fails for us too, it comes down.
