What’s new in Apple: the full lineup and when it is actually worth buying
New chips, new prices, same release rhythm. Here is the buying calendar we use before every Apple purchase.

Apple’s calendar is boring on purpose: phones in September, laptops whenever the chip is ready, and a quiet January for everything else. Once you know the rhythm, you stop buying three weeks before a price drop.
The three windows that matter
Education pricing opens in summer and runs into the autumn term. Refurbished stock refreshes every Tuesday and Thursday around 10am local time, and trade-in values quietly rise in the two weeks before a launch.
- Buy a laptop in September: education pricing plus a free accessory beats every Black Friday bundle.
- Buy a phone four to six weeks after launch, when trade-in boosts appear.
- Buy accessories any time — the refurbished store always has them.
What to ignore
Third-party “Apple discount codes” that promise 20% off a new iPhone are almost always affiliate links to the refurbished store. Check the model year before you celebrate.
Our rule: never pay full price for an accessory, and never pay full price for a phone older than two years.
